Cinderella Remagined
This book is another version of Cinderella reimagined by me. All aspects of design and print production by me. I created my book through the use of Photoshop and InDesign since Cinderella is very popular, I thought of the idea of finding printable Cinderella coloring pages for the illustrations of my book. this idea worked better than I thought it would and I am content with the way most of the illustrations turned out. I learned how to digitize my images by following a tutorial on YouTube.
The YouTube video taught me how to use filter gallery /poster edges and the oil paint setting effectively to manipulate the drawings and give them the look I was going for. Since drawing isn’t my strong suit I decided to use children's printable colorings images to edit them later. Before I started running I ran a test between pencils and felt tips to see which ones I liked the most. After using both pencils and felt tips I decided that I liked the way the images looked with felt tip pens unlike pencils felt tips gave the images a vibrancy that the pencil images lacked. Due to the popularity of children’s book main characters being primarily. Caucasian, I wanted to add a personal touch by making all of the charters in my book of black ethnicities and being different. This was not analyzed within my project as Cinderella’s race had nothing to with the story and the color of her skin played no part in the story-line. However, I decided to do this as an unconscious personal part.
